Notes from the meeting of the Group held on Monday 28th May 2012
Present:

51/11-12Minutes
CONSIDERED:
The notes of the meeting held on 14th May 2012.
RESOLVED:
That the minutes be approved.
52/11-122011-12 Programme of Works
CONSIDERED:
(a) A summary of the current budget position for University funds (CTTR.1(revised)/11-12);
(b) A summary of current works (CTTR.2(revised)/11-12).
RESOLVED:
That there was approximately £38000 remaining in the budget to be spent by the end of the 2011-12
financial year.
53/11-12Annual Accommodation Round 2011-12
RECEIVED:
(a) An oral report from the Furniture and Equipment Officer on the possibility of installing an additional
whiteboard in H2.01, it being noted that it would cost around £120 for the whiteboard;
(b) An oral report from Mr A Maddison on the coverage of visualizers in CTTRs, it being noted that the
Humanities Building would benefit from the installation of visualizers at a cost of approximately £1500
each;
(c) An oral report from the Furniture and Equipment Officer indicating that the type of furniture in H3.58
would determine the capacity of the room;
(d) An oral report from the Furniture and Equipment Officer noting that furniture on castors was put into 09b
at the request of the Centre for Lifelong Learning and that this could be replicated in WCE0.9a and
WCE0.10 however it would have an impact on the capacity of the rooms;
(e) An oral report from the Furniture and Equipment Officer indicating that the approximate cost of
replacing the curtains in WCE0.9a and WCE.010 would be £3000-£5000;

An oral report from the Furniture and Equipment Officer noting that the cost of installing additional
whiteboards in S2.73 would be approximately £250;
RESOLVED:
That Mr A Maddison and the Lead Technical Specialist produce a list of rooms which would benefit
from visualizers.
54/11-12Refurbishment of S0.08, S0.09 and S0.10
REPORTED (by the Graduate Surveyor):
That the removal of furniture in S0.08, S0.09 and S0.10 had begun and works would start later in the week.
REPORTED (by the Furniture and Equipment Officer):
That the furniture for the Ramphal Building was out to tender, it being noted that this may delay the process
for obtaining the same furniture for the Social Sciences rooms.
RESOLVED:
(a) That the carpet will be the same colour as the Ramphal carpet and would be laid in strips;
(b) That the chairs and tables will be the same as the Ramphal furniture, with the old tables and chairs being
temporarily put back into S0.08, S0.09 and S0.10 until the new furniture arrives;
55/11-12Ad Hoc Comments Regarding CTTRs
CONSIDERED:
An audit of CTTRs in Humanities, Social Sciences and Westwood carried out by Space
Management and detailed in paper CTTR.7/11-12.
RESOLVED:
(a) That the Furniture and Equipment Officer look into replacing the old tables in Humanities with 1200x600
tables on castors and provide costs as soon as possible;
(b) That the Assistant Secretary produce a list of rooms in Humanities with the old tables and send it to the
Furniture and Equipment Officer;
(c) That the Small Works Manager produce costs for the decorative works in the Humanities Building and
S0.17.
