COURSE DESCRIPTION: Studies selected problems or topics in interior design. The exact content and instructional methodology will vary semester to semester depending on the material to be studied. A syllabus or course outline containing additional information will be available with pre-registration materials each time that the course is offered. This course may be repeated up to a maximum of three credit hours. TOPICAL OUTLINE: The outline of the course can vary depending on the topic. METHODS OF PRESENTATION: While the course would vary with the topic, methods of presentation might include: lectures, interactive group work, videotapes, class discussion, speakers, seminars, films, field trips, interviews and field work. STUDENT OUTCOMES: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should: 1. Pursue an in-depth study of selected topics or problems in interior design. 2. Study a topic which may not be part of the existing course content or which may be pursued in more depth than an existing course may permit. 3. Share specific solutions to problems or projects with other students. 4. Take special field trips, which could not be taken during the normal course of the curriculum due to time and distance limitations. These field trips will be combined with readings, discussion and guided research. Note: Outcomes will vary with topic and be determined when class is scheduled. IND 215 Page 2 METHODS OF EVALUATION: Depending on the topic, the course may involve exams, term papers, case studies, annotated essays, journals, term projects and oral presentations.
