COURSE DESCRIPTION
Presents a clear understanding of graphic desktop software and their many functions in the printing
industry. Provides hands-on training using the most current desktop publishing software. Focuses on
project work, page layouts and output functions.
Prerequisite: Prior or concurrent enrollment in GRA101.

gain vector skills: in creating logos, graphics and die work.

understand raster imagery criteria: resolution, colorspace, file formats and image size.

create high-res pdf’s and the uses.

understand Pantone Process/Spot uses and CMYK processes with image criteria.

understand color management tools/uses, standards, requirements, procedures.

understand ink and paper selection and uses in a print workflow as well as estimating, imposition
