DAT: Start doing practice problems for ALL sections NOW; OAT: Start doing practice problems for ALL sections NOW (with the exception of Physics if you haven’t taken the course yet) 6. Submit REVISIONS of your Post-Secondary Experiences Form and Personal Statement) to xupremed@yahoo.com 7. Completed Junior Assessment Meeting September 2015 8. TODAY----Completed Junior Letters of Evaluation Meeting 9. Within 48 hours of your Evaluations Meeting--- ASK the faculty that you listed if they’d AT LEAST be willing to write evals on your behalf (follow the Directions for Collecting/Sending Evals) 10. NO LATER THAN CHRISTMAS BREAK ---Submit the following items to EACH teacher who agreed to write your evaluation (these instructions don’t apply to optometry, PA, PT, public health, or veterinary medicine) 1) Completed Faculty Evaluation Cover Letter (See special instructions for Opt, PA, PH, PT, Vet!!!) 2) Good, revised copy of your Personal Statement 3) Good, revised copy of your Post-Secondary Experiences Form NOTE: If applying to optometry, physician assistant, public health, physical therapy, or veterinary school, your evaluators must complete ELECTRONIC evaluations on your behalf once the applications open!!! Do not have letters for these types of schools filed in the PM Office!!! 11. Research and apply to summer programs NOW for 2016 OR secure other medical/clinical experience!!! Attend ALL classes for Kaplan, Princeton, etc. PLUS study at least 10 hours/week outside of class (AND DO LOTS AND LOTS OF PRACTICE TESTS) Complete School Selection Meeting in MARCH to talk about schools to which you will apply Follow-up with evaluation writers to make sure evals completed in timely fashion Take MCAT in April/May (if taking the DAT, OAT, etc., register to take the test between April-June)---REMEMBER, GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO STUDY AND RETAKE IF NECESSARY! Start working on applications May 1, 2016; Submit applications July 2016 (or as soon as MCAT, DAT, etc. scores are received and applications critiqued and ready to submit) Attend summer enrichment or research program; study to retake MCAT, DAT, etc. if applicable; gain experience through volunteering, shadowing, etc.
