What can I do with a degree in…..
Accounting and Finance
Accounting and Finance is Warwick Business School’s most professionally-oriented undergraduate
qualification. It is ideal for pursuing a career within accounting and finance, such as investments, banking,
accountancy, financial analysis and management, tax, or insurance. It is recognised as providing a superior
foundation for a career in accountancy or finance and on graduation you may be eligible for exemptions
from some of the professional exams of various accountancy bodies. As well as developing professional
finance and numerical and analytical skills the degree will also help you to develop a variety of highly
transferable skills valued by employers, such as organisational and planning skills, report writing, working to
deadlines, team work and presentation skills.
On this course, you have the opportunity in your 3rd year to participate in the Undergraduate Partnership
Programme (UPP) run collaboratively with Cardiff and Manchester Business Schools and developed by The
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Through this programme you can apply
for a work placement in an accounting role, which can count as the first year of a training contract. The
experience will give you the opportunity to commence the ACA, the premier professional accountancy
qualification, while studying for a high-quality degree. There is also the option of pursuing a work placement
in an alternative sector and function in your 3rd year
