Registration
You must be registered before you start work
(3-17 years)
Time limit for provisional registration
 In 2015 a time limit was introduced.
 Three years and 30 days to complete
requirements of F1.
 Make sure you don’t hold PR unless you are in
an F1 programme.
 If you stop or put your F1 on hold – relinquish
your registration.
Can junior doctors work in any F1 post while
holding provisional registration?
a)Yes
b) No
Overseas F1 training
You must have the following in place before going:
 Allocated place on foundation programme
 Prior approval from your medical school
 Prior approval from your postgraduate dean
 Hold provisional registration with the GMC
If you don’t you won’t
be entitled to full registration
on your return to the UK.
