Cover Letter Ramya Sri Kanuparti ramya25kanuparti@gmail.com Owing to the opportunities provided by Osmania University I was able to explore and thoroughly study various aspects and latest innovations in Technical Textiles especially in the field of biomedical textiles which were explained later herein. I was always in top 3% in class and my overall GPA was 9.24 on the scale of 10. I was also able to present my studies, research and ideas in various seminars, International conferences and symposiums. During my undergraduate study, I presented my technical research and technical reviews in various forms such as poster presentations, paper presentations and published articles which have been mentioned on my CV. During my study interest towards nowovens, biomaterials and medical textiles has developed. With this interest I did literature and patent review on n o n w o v e n s , biomaterials, nanofibres & medical textiles. All these participations enabled me to improve my writing, verbal and research skills where in it helped me in publishing a review article. I also acquired practical knowledge by industrial visits and training in spinning mills and at Polyester staple fibre plant, Reliance Industries limited. During the training I have acquired the skills of polyester fibre mats & raw material characterization. Also, personnel, project, material, risk and time management, research and development. My undergrad project on bamboo fibre and characterization of bamboo fabric helped me in learning about sourcing, fibre structures, processing, characterization, production, testing and interpretation of results. With further interest in higher studies, I have passed my Master of Science in Advanced textiles and performance clothing at University of Leeds with merit. The masters' specialization was in Nonwovens, textiles used in medical devices and health care and biomaterials. My masters' dissertation was on "Fabrication of low and high molecular weight protein materials for healthcare" and passed with distinction in it. During my dissertation, I worked a t “ Nonwovens Innovation & Research institute, Leeds”& “ B i o e n g i n e e r i n g l a b , S c h o o l o f D e n t i s t r y , U n i v e r s i t y o f L e e d s ” on design of varied molecular weight protein materials into wet spun fibres which involved characterization, crosslinking and mechanical testing of wet spun fibres. Throughout the process of my project work, I have learnt about the history, extraction and structure of biomaterials. Most of the work was on the collagen based protein materials. I have also learnt Cover Letter Ramya Sri Kanuparti ramya25kanuparti@gmail.com about the life cycle of the cell and function of protein materials in it. With my work I could see that varied molecular weight protein wet spun fibres had lot of potential in health care. This project work laid more interest towards production of novel biomaterials at lab scale in mat form/ electrospun/ hydroentangled. Also, laid special interest towards the cell culture studies on the collagen based wet spun fibres following with " in vivo" studies as well. With this interest I would like to work on fabrication of biomaterials for tissue repair. I am confident that all the above activities will provide the flavor of my interest and ability in various fields of nonwovens, textiles, biomaterials and proteins though my peers might have done similar or related areas of work. I am looking at opportunities to undertake research/projects under the concerned company. I’m very much excited at the very idea of working with eminent people and enthusiastic to work with ease under the company
