For ConTech Lighting Pendant Mount Cylinder Fixtures: CI6FC and CI8FC PENDANT MOUNT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prior to installation, ensure a 4" round or square (with round-to-square junction box cover plate) junction box is properly mounted to the ceiling structure. 2. Loosen the (2) Philips screws that hold the canopy mounting base to the round canopy. Attach the mounting plate to the junction box or junction box cover. 3. Determine the length of flexible cable required. Standard fixture is provided with 10' of cable. 4. To adjust the length, loosen the two strain relief screws on the canopy and remove cable from canopy cover. 5. If cutting is required: Leave only 6-8" for wiring available. Mark the cable where it needs to be cut. Carefully score the outer jacket around the diameter of the cable about 6-8" below the desired length. Score the outer jacket lengthwise for the 6-8" section. Use proper rotary cable slitters (such as Ideal #45-128). Remove the outer jacket. Using a wire stripper, remove the wire insulation from the individual conductors. 6. Refeed the cable through the canopy cover. There should not be any excess flexible cord in the canopy compartment. Per UL1598 and NEC300.14, “at least 150mm(6") of free conductors and less than 8", measure from the point in the box where it emerges from its raceway or cable sheath shall be left at each outlet, junction and switch point. 7. Make wire connections with supply from ceiling. (Black to Black, White to White, Green to Green) 8. Mount canopy cover to canopy mounting base. 9. Insert appropriate rated wattage lamp.
