APPLICATIONS FOR STATE FUNDING FOR CONSTRUCTION
PROJECTS TO THE CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES
BOARD OF GOVERNORS
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt resolution #609 approving the September 15 submittal of applications to
the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges for state funding
of two construction projects: 1) Science and Humanities Building, Eureka, and
2) Student Services/Administration Building, Eureka.
BACKGROUND
As part of the state facility planning process, the District submitted two IPPs (Initial
Planning Proposals) for projects that coincided with projects developed during the bond
campaign. The state accepted the submitted IPPs for both projects, and approved them to
be moved forward for FPPs (Final Project Proposals.) The FPP applications, due by
September 15, delineate the process and represent detailed preliminary architect plans.
The District has engaged NMR (Nichols, Melburg and Rossetto Architects) to develop
these documents. The state will review the proposals during 2006 and award projects
in 2007.
