Dear Chairs of the Basic Skills Committee,
I am writing to formally request basic skills allocations for the Office of Institutional Research. This
resource request is to enable the Office of Institutional Research to continue, and build upon, the
information gathered to inform basic skills planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program.
Such endeavors include:
Tracking the impact of basic skills assessment and curriculum initiatives
Establishing and tracking the performance of various basic skills cohorts
Assessing faculty/staff interests and needs regarding strategies for working with basic skills students
Informing early intervention strategies
I am hoping that these funds would allow for a temporary analyst. Resources for a temporary analyst
(PRME 3) would cost about:
$12,000 for a 9-month period if working 10 hours per week
$18,000 for a 9-month period if working 15 hours per week
