4.DescribehowyourproposalsupportstheBasicSkillsMissionStatementand/ortheBasicSkillsannualplan:The
OfficeofInstitutionalResearchreliesondataanalyticstoolstoanalyzebasicskillsdata,andtopresenttheinformationin
awaythatismeaningfultodecisionmakerssothattheycanoffereffectivebasicskillseducation.Improveddataanalysis
throughttheuseoftheTableauanalyticssoftwarepackagewillleadtobetterdecisionswhichleadtoastrongerbasic
skillsprogram.

todeterminetheirimpactonbasicskillsstudents(e.g.,ENGL‐102,GUID‐1).(2)Clearlypresentbasicskillsdatatoconstiuents
toguidedecisions.(3)Provideprogramreviewdatathatisdissagregatedbytheextenttowhichstudentsrequirebasicskills
education.Eachoutcomewillbemeasuredbythedeliveryanduseofinformationtoinformdecisions.

willmeasureit):AformalassessmentofENGL‐102andGUID‐1usingtheTableausoftwarewilltakeplacebyspring
2015.Thisinformationwillbepresentedtothebasicskillscommitteeandotherrelevantgroupsfordecisionmaking.
Programreviewdatawillbedeliveredinfall2014,andprogramreviewauthorswillusethisinformationtoinform
programplanstoimprovebasicskillseducation.Programreviewauthorsareaskedtoevaluatetheimpactofthis
information.
