Students will have a choice of emphasis. The options may be chamber music in the European classical tradition, jazz, or world cultures such as: Africa, China, or Latin America. Students will conduct outside research, listening, and practice assignments. The classical and jazz options require prior instrumental performance skills. Variable 0.5-1.5 units, 0.25-0.75 lecture hours per week, 0.75-2.25 lab hours per week. NOTE: This course requires instrumental performance ability. Outside practice is expected.
