Performs analytical duties such as evaluating student profiles for specific programs by
pre-screening registration materials, tracks verifications, accommodations and other
materials that would identify and profile student needs. Maintains records and files of
documents processed for ready access and compiles various reports according to welldefined operating procedures. Ensures the timely distribution and receipt of a variety of
records and reports. Requests or provides information as necessary to assure
completeness and accuracy. Compiles statistical data, reports routine administrative or
financial transactions or other data and maintains various department information onto
established data entry formats. Searches out information in departmental records and
files for purposes of course level and program level assessment.
Statement of Need (Justify the need for the position)
The position was a full-time position that was not filled when the current person holding it
retired. Since that time students must wait longer for accommodations, thus impacting
their ability to succeed in the classroom. We are having trouble with tracking our
students, as there is now no one dedicated person to track services for 1200 student
districtwide. This will eventually impact our funding as errors occur. Currently each of
us try to “fit in” the duties into our days in addition to our own positions, and it is not
working.

Link with Institutional Goal/Assessment Results (Describe):
This position is critical to student success and aligns with Strategic Goal 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.
Without timely access to accommodations students with disabilities often fail to succeed
and persist academically. The position provides needed support services to students to
allow them to reach their educational goals. It also aligns with Strategic Goad 3.5 by
allowing us to track, measure and improve on what we are doing for students, by
maintaining data bases to organize and quantify support services provided to students.
The greater number of student we are able to serve, the more fiscally sound our program
is, increasing operational sustainability (Strategic Goal 3.2).
