Duringboththe2010‐11and2011‐12academicyears,providedstudentonlineorientations,offered
numerous(primarily)facultyworkshopsovertheacademicyear,andprovidedone‐on‐one,and
smallgroupassistanceasneeded.Duringthe2010‐11year,supportedandtestedtheTegrity
lecturecapturesystem,includingtraining,whichisnowpart of the College of the Canyon’s Distance
Education Captioning and Transcription grant. All recordings in Tegrity are captioned. We even had the
grant caption the previous pilot videos. Workdirectlywiththeprofessionaldevelopmentcommitteetodeterminetheneedsofandprovide
moretrainingforstaff.

STAFFWORKSHOPS
Thisisnewbutasanexperiment,wefacilitatedaworkshoponMSExcelforstaff.Weconsideredit
successfuland15staffmembersparticipated.WeplanonworkingwiththeProfessional
DevelopmentCommitteeandofferingmoreworkshopsforstaffbasedontheirfeedbackfromthe
ProfessionalDevelopCommittee’sstaffsurveywhichwasconductedthisyear.
LECTURECAPTURE
IntheWinterof2010weranapilotoftheTegritylecturecapturesystem.Wehad8classesusing
thesystem.Wenowhave23classesusingit.TegrityisnowpartoftheCollegeoftheCanyon’s
DistanceEducationCaptioningandTranscriptiongrant.AllrecordingsinTegrityarecaptioned.We
evenhadthegrantcaptionthepreviouspilotvideos.
