Degree – Digital Media Spring 2011: 1) Describe the assessment tool(s)/ assignment(s) that will be used to measure the SLO(s). DM SLO 3. Communicate effectively and contribute production expectations in a team environment to meet deadlines for media-based products. This SLO will be assessed in DM30 using team evalution/participation forms where students assess each other. These documents will be completed and submitted at intervals during the team production part of the semester and including in assignment grade rubrics. DM SLO 4. Adapt to changes in media technologies while utilizing similarities in development tools (hardware and software) to build new skills on existing skills. This SLO will be assessed in DM30 based on the original media file types and development software that students choose during their team project development process. The Game Design Document for example is a group assignment and students use various development software to produce a professional level multi-page document that has visual appeal through design and layout. 2) Who will coordinate the collection of the assessment artifacts, the development of a rubric to assess the artifacts, and the process of assessing the artifacts? Clyde Johnson is the DM30 faculty so will be responsible for the above tasks. Other DM Associate faculty may participate in artifact assessment. 3) When and where will faculty meet and/ or how will they communicate to carry out this assessment work? The assessments will take place during the semester and be completed before the beginning of the following semester. Faculty will utilize electronic communication to assess the SLO. Demonstrate abilities to follow directions and adapt personal style to develop and deliver content as defined by client, audience, and/or purpose. This SLO will be assessed in DM7 using lab assignments that instructions for students to follow while allowing creative freedom as long as assignment specifications are met. DM SLO 1. Conceptualize, design, develop, and deliver ideas, values, and stories to defined audiences for defined purposes, through visual and aural media. This SLO will be assessed in DM24B through the final cartoon project where students have prepared for production by defining audience and purpose and during production their design choices are appropriate for the defined audience and purpose. 2) Who will coordinate the collection of the assessment artifacts, the development of a rubric to assess the artifacts, and the process of assessing the artifacts?
