Minutes
Discussion of minutes of September 5 meeting—corrections were made to reflect the following:

We agreed to add Roxanne Metz to the PRC membership as a nonvoting member.
We agreed to look at including the division chairs/program directors in the program
review process by asking them to provide a summary page for his/her area of
responsibility. For example: Dave Bazard would provide a sheet summarizing the
overall needs of the program reviews in MSE. Attached is a draft summary sheet.
We discussed the role of the PRC.
We reviewed the refined integrated planning model and found that clarification of
processes is needed.
We found that the Retention and faculty load data is unreliable.
Roxanne and Dave explained the Integrated Planning Model Analysis and Link from Program
Review to Planning document.
The Committee agreed that it would be a good idea to have the Division Chairs/Program
Directors involved in the year’s program reviews. There was some agreement that the
Division Chairs have been involved in the process in an informal way. There was concern
expressed over changing the formal process at this date in time.
It was agreed to ask the chairs to attach and addendum to each program review document
noting their comments and sign off that they read and discussed the review before the PRC
meeting. It was further agreed that the division chairs/program directors should make sure
that their comments are forwarded to the program review authors.
Keith agreed to develop a master schedule/timeline of Instructional and Non-instructional
Program Reviews.
It was agreed that the role of the PRC would not change from last year. The PRC will continue to
provide a summary of each program review to the CPC. It was agreed that a joint meeting of
the PRC and CPC will be helpful in understanding the role of both bodies and how
information processes can be enhanced. Keith agreed to set up the joint meeting.
Roxanne will send an email to Division Chairs/Program Directors with a copy to “All” regarding
program review information.
It was noted that there was a lack of valid program review data (e.g. faculty loads, enrollment
trends, retention, success rates, etc.). Keith agreed to follow-up with Martha Davis.
Next Meeting: September 19th
