Statement of Program Goals and Objectives: The study of business prepares students to function, either as individuals or as part of a larger organization in the production and delivery of goods and services. The proposed Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree is in compliance with SB 1440 (Education Code section 66746). The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree prepares students to transfer into the CSU system to complete a baccalaureate degree in Business, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, etc. The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree prepares students to seamlessly pursue a baccalaureate degree in Business at a California State University. Item 2. Catalog Description A student may earn an Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree pending CCCCO approval. The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in Business at a CSU campus. Students completing the Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus or major. Upon completion of the Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree, students will be able to: 1) Select and apply analytical and technological tools as they relate to personal, business, and social decisions. 2) Communicate effectively as writers, listeners, and speakers in diverse social and business settings. To meet the requirements for the Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer degree, students must: • Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University. • The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or the California State University General Education – Breadth Requirements. • A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district. • Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. • A grade of “C” or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis.
