About NIAB

NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on infectious diseases, animal genetics and genomics, reproductive biotechnology, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals. The Institute plans to promote bio entrepreneurship by providing supportive and stimulating academic and creative environment for commercial tenants involved in the development of farm animal based products and services.

Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow for a DBT funded project entitled “Elucidation of

the Role of Non-structural (W) protein of Avian Paramyxoviruses”

Principal Investigator: Dr. Madhuri Subbiah

Fellowship: 25,000 plus 30 % HRA p.m.

Eligibility: Post Graduate Degree in life sciences with NET qualification or Post Graduate degree in professional course.

(Eligibility criteria as per DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10.2014). However Non-NET candidates can also

apply who will be paid as per their eligibility.

Candidate having previous work experience in the areas of Virology, Microbiology, Cell Culture and Molecular Biology are preferred.

Age: 28 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions)

Duration: The appointment will be for 1 year initially and is extendable subject to annual review and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
