Currently my research focus on the development and application of reproductive technologies in a number of animals that are listed on the IUCN red list as endangered animals such as the Arabian leopard, the Tahr and the desert gazelle. Our goal is to maximize the survival rate of sperm cells post freezing and thawing. Consequently, this will enable the usage of modern reproductive biotechnologies such as in vitro fertilization, embryo transfer and the export of genetic material. This approach will provide a model that reduce inbreeding depression, improve biodiversity conservation and facilitate cross country exchange of reproductive cells of exotic endangered animals in an arid region. Additionally, epigenetic remodeling and reprogramming of spermatozoa prior to freezing/thawing and fertilization is being investigated in the bovine species. 1 COMMITTEES Member of the capital equipment committee Member of the student training committee Member of the bioethics committee Member of the seminar organization committee BOOKS & EDITORIALS Biotechnology and Conservation of Species from Arid Regions (2014); S.A.
