TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.
Qualifications:-
A. Professor
i.
An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned/ allied/ relevant discipline and
published work of high quality actively engaged in research with evidence of published work
with a minimum of 10 publications as books and / or research papers .
ii.
A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University / College in Hons or P.G. level and
/ or experience in research at the University / National level Institutions.
iii.
A minimum score of 400 points as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API)
based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) in category III (as per UGC Regulations
published in Gazette of India on September 18, 2010 and 2nd Amendment vide Letter No. F.12/2009 (EC/PS) V(I) Vol-II dated 13June 2013).
iv.
Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology –
mediated teaching learning process with evidence of guided candidates for research at doctoral
level.
OR
An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has
made
significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned /allied / relevant discipline, to be
substantiated by credentials.
B. Reader
i.
Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant
disciplines.
ii.
A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever
grading system is followed).
iii.
A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research
position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor / Lecturer in a University, College or national
level Research Institution / Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of
published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and /or research papers.
iv.
A minimum score of 300 points as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based
Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) in category III (as per UGC Regulations published
in Gazette of India on September 18, 2010 and 2nd Amendment vide Letter No. F.1-2/2009
(EC/PS) V(I) Vol-II dated 13 June 2013).
v.
Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology –
mediated teaching learning process with evidence of guided research students (with score in subcategory-D of API score under category-III).
C.
LECTURER
i.
Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or an equivalent grade of “B” in the seven
point scale with latter graders, O,A,B,C,D, and E&F at the Master’s Degree Level in the relevant
subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University. However,
relaxation of 5% marks i.e. from 55% to 50% is allowed for candidates having Ph. D degree and
passed their Master Degree prior to 19.09.91.
ii.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility
Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR for the respective subjects.
iii.
Notwithstanding anything contained in (i) and (ii) candidates, who are, or have been awarded a
Ph.D. Degree through a process of admission, registration, course work, evaluation and award as
laid down in the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award
of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 and so adopted by the concerned university, shall be exempted
from NET for recruitment and appointment of lecturer.
iv.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the Graduate and Master’s level for the SC/ST/Differentlyabled (Physically and Visually Handicapped) candidates for the purpose of eligibility of
educational qualification and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to
teaching positions. Rounding off of marks to make it to 55% or 5% as the case may be through
grace mark procedure etc., by Universities is not permissible for claiming relaxation.
2. Scale of Pay :Professor
Rs. 37,400-Rs.67,000/- +AGP Rs. 10,000/Reader*
Rs.15,600-Rs.39,100/- + AGP Rs. 8,000/*After 5 years of continues service as Reader will be placed in the scale of pay Rs. 37,400/- - 67,000/+ AGP Rs.9000/Lecturer
Rs.15,600-Rs. 39,100/- + AGP Rs. 6,000/Besides, the D.A & Other allowances are admissible as per University rules from time to time.

4. HOW TO APPLY:(i) Application form may be downloaded from the University website: www.fmuniversity.nic.in and
send duly filled in to the Registrar, Fakir Mohan University, Vyasa Vihar, Nuapadhi Campus, Balasore
– 756020 by Speed Post/ Registered Post so as to reach before the deadline.
The envelope containing application should be super scribed “APPLICATION FOR
THE POST OF …………………… in SUBJECT ………………………………”
(ii) Applicants may send their applications through E-Mail in the following address. :
info.fmuniversity@gmail.com. However, the hardcopies along with the application fee should
reach the Registrar on or before the deadline.
iii) The applicants are required to submit the DD of Rs.1000/-(Rupees one thousand) only in any
nationalized bank in favour of”Fakir Mohan University Development Fund-II” and payable at Balasore
along with the application form.
Hard copy of the Applicants not enclosed with requisite fees before the deadline will not be
considered. The API score in the proforma provided with all relevant enclosures in support of the score
claimed under each sub category should also be submitted before the deadline, so that those can be
verified.

5. Documents to be submitted along with application forms strictly in the proforma provided with

Forwarding of application by the employer (if employed) to be received before the
interview.
(e)
Candidates who are in service can send their applications as advance copy in
order to save delay and the forwarding of application will be followed by it.
(f)
Candidate applying for the post of Reader are required to submit the reprints of
their three major publications separately for evaluation by experts.
(g)
Candidates applying for the post of Professor are required to submit the reprints
of their three major publications out of which one could be a book or research
report for evaluation by experts.
(h)
For counting towards teaching experience: The applicant has to ensure that the
essential qualification for the posts held previously in other organizations/
University/College were not lower than the qualifications (and on
equivalent grade) prescribed by the UGC for Lecturer/ Assistant
Professor/Reader/Associate Professor/ Professor as the case may be. The
appointment should not have been as guest lecturer/guest Professor, and the
post should have been filled in accordance with the selection procedure laid
down by the UGC / University/ State and / or Central Government. These
should be mentioned in the application and documentary proof to be
enclosed.

Applications received incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily
rejected and no correspondence on that score shall be entertained.
The application form duly filled in by the candidate must be supported by
attested copies of all required documents.
Merely fulfilling the minimum qualification does not entitle a candidate to be
necessarily considered or called for interview.
Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
University reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies advertised if the
circumstances so warrant.
Relaxation of any of the qualification may be made in exceptional cases on the
recommendation of the selection committee.
Separate application is required for each post.
No deputation allowances shall be paid.
No TA / DA will be paid to attend the selection committee or to join the first
appointment.
Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of the candidates will be considered as
disqualification.
The above conditions are subject to modification by Government and Hon’ble Chancellor
from time to time.
University reserves the right to amend/alter/cancel any or all conditions mentioned above, if
