It is very simple to register; all that is required is your name, address, make, model, colour of the bike and the serial number (found under the frame). These details are then entered onto a secure database that allows police and security to check the owner details of a cycle 24/7. The scheme is open to students, staff and family members. Please contact the campus Police Officer: PC Mick Parkes m.parkes@warwick.ac.uk DON’T TALK & RIDE! PEDESTRIAN SAFETY BE SEEN...BE SAFE Concentrate whilst you are crossing the road. If you are talking on a mobile phone or listening to music, pay extra attention. Think about what you are wearing as dressing all in black does not help the car driver to see you. Try to wear something bright or reflective, especially in the dark. ROAD SAFETY BE SEEN...BE SAFE If there is no pavement then always walk on the side of the road facing the traffic to ensure you can see any approaching vehicles. Where possible, avoid walking with your back to the traffic and if you have to step into the road, always look both ways first. When crossing the road, remember to keep looking both ways. Always use pedestrian crossings whenever possible as these are there to help you and drivers. Try not to cross the road between parked cars. Walking a short distance to find a clear view of the road or to find a provided crossing could mean avoiding a potential accident. Make sure you have plenty of time to cross and do not run across the road.
