Minutes of the Professional Standards Committee
April 13, 2001
Members Present: W. Beardsley, T. Cooney, B. Mann (chair), S. Moore, G. Elliott, B. Ragan

Bruce Mann, chair, called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. Minutes from the last meeting were
approved.
Committee members read memos regarding Evaluation Statements for English and Exercise
Science Departments. The memos were approved to be sent to the respective departments.
PSC members also read and approved the content of a memo request from the Department of
Politics and Government concerning an addition to the Evaluation Statement for that department.
At this point a discussion of job descriptions for teaching assistants (Course Assistants)
continued from the previous meeting. A member of the committee offered to construct a
framework for these job descriptions that would help departments bring the statements in line with
the requirements for assistants that are included in Appendix B of the Faculty Code.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:56 p.m.
