Resolution 3-10-S
A resoltuion to prevent injury to students, faculty, and staff at MTSU during
inclement winter weather.
Whereas: Middle Tennessee State University is made up primarily of off campus residing
students, faculty, and staff.
Whereas: Some students (friendly amendment 2), faculty, and staff at MTSU do not feel
safe commuting to campus in inclement weather.
Whereas: Campus services is not equipped with the proper equipment to handle the high
volume of students and vehicles on campus during these times.
Whereas: Safety of students, faculty, and staff are of high priority at MTSU.
Therefore, let it be resolved by the 72nd Congress of the Student Government
Association of Middle Tennessee State University that:
Section 1: When Rutherford County Schools are closed, Middle Tennessee University
class absences will be excused.
Section 2: MTSU will follow Rutherford Country school decision school opening time.
