Resolution No. 4-09-F A resolution to require the Student Government Association to host a town hall meeting inviting the current sitting president of Middle Tennessee State University to address the student body. The town hall meeting will be held on a weekday evening of every Fall and Spring semester. WHEREAS: Every semester, students at MTSU have questions that they want answered but have no idea how to reach the administration WHEREAS: With the issues of construction and budget cuts taking place on campus, among others, students are becoming more uninformed WHEREAS: Town hall meetings are an effective way for the president to get a chance to address the student body and inform us of what is going on with MTSU WHEREAS: Town hall meetings give all students the opportunity to bring up topics to the president that they feel need to be discussed WHEREAS: Town hall meetings open up the opportunity for all campus and community related issues to be discussed, even if the president is not aware of the issue WHEREAS: Holding the town hall meeting on a weekday evening increases the chances of interested students being able to attend THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE 72nd CONGRESS OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OF MTSU THAT: Section 1: The Student Government Association will host a town hall meeting inviting the current sitting president of Middle Tennessee State University to address the student body.
