A Resolution to make parking on the days of football games
Whereas:
MTSU Students should be encouraged to participate in the tradition and school spirit of
tailgating and attending home game football events;
Whereas:
MTSU parking lots are often filled with guests and alumni for football games and
students are left to receive parking tickets;
Whereas:
Students should not be penalized for attending class or the football game because there is
not enough green parking to accommodate students on game days;
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE 73nd CONGRESS OF THE STUDENT
GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY THAT:
Section 1:
On game days, students will not receive parking tickets for parking in the TN Livestock
Center parking lot and ticketing will be more lenient in regards to parking on the grass
around Peck Hall and by the TN Livestock Center parking lot, with inner campus grass
areas excluded.
Section 2:
Game days limited to Saturday football home games with parking open at 7:30am, which
is when tailgating is open and weekday football home games with parking open at
2:30pm.
Section 3:
This resolution will go into effect immediately.
