A resolution to recognize the academic achievement of students that make Dean’s List.

To qualify for the dean’s list distinction at MTSU, a student must maintain a current
semester grade-point average of 3.5 or above and earn at least 12 semester hours. The
“Dean’s List” notation applies only to undergraduate students.
Recognition for academic achievement can boost student morale and help retain students
at MTSU.
MTSU is continuously looking to recognize student achievements.
THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED BY THE 76th CONGRESS OF THE STUDENT
GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY THAT:
Section 1:
MTSU will send a PDF electronic certificate to students that meet the requirements of
Dean’s list for the previous semester.
Section 2:
Students that make Dean’s list will receive an individualized email with the attached
certificate and congratulatory message.
Section 3:
The certificate will be signed by the university president or his/her designee and exhibit
the SGA seal.
Section 4:
The Vice-President of Student Affairs will allocate the duties as necessary for the
implementation of this resolution.
Section 5:
If passed, this resolution will take place at the conclusion of the Spring semester 2014.
