1. Minutes – review/modification for December 6, 2011 - approved
2. R23 Forms informational
a. 288 requests since 7/9/10
b. Completed: 245 requests for 4,290.3 hours
3. Ongoing Projects
a. Student mailboxes were removed from Exchange on 1/9/12
b. Implementation of 90-day password expiration implemented 1/21/12 for faculty and staff
c. Implementation of 90-day password expiration for students was discussed. We prefer to implement
with the Summer 2012 or Fall 2012 semester. Discussion regarding the better semester to implement
was held. ITS must provide information to students, faculty and staff. Web pages will need to be
modified, admissions’ letters need to be changed and Mandy Husak will need to update some
information that is available for faculty use. It was recommended we consider going to a password
that is valid for an entire semester, which is 120 days for fall and spring. Debbie will gather more input
regarding what is feasible from a technical standpoint and report back to the committee.
d. Blackboard Mobile App
 Phase 2 of Blackboard mobile released 1/4/12, ahead of schedule
 Phase 3 suggestions are appreciated and being accepted at this time. So far:
Places plugin for map (ITS)
Sodexho menus
Computer lab locations with hours of operation
Banner student bills, schedules and grades
RE: student bills, Ninette mentioned the amount due is viewable on TouchNet and the detail
for the bill is available through self-service Banner by going through AggieAccess
4. Banner related:
a. DegreeWorks - Linda reported TEST system upgraded to the very latest version 4.01 on 2/7/12.
They needed some additional functionality provided in the latest version. They are anxious to begin
testing. They will soon be extending the testing to some Advising Center employees.
b. Activation of Advisor screens – Provost McArthur reported this is on-track. They are finalizing a
‘change of major’ form and working through logistics. The technical side appears to be ready to go.
c. Inventory is still on hold.
d. Faculty compensation/overload module is still on hold. HR/PY team has decided to move from pooled
positions to unique position numbers for full-time regular employees. I encouraged Chase to notify
ILT of this decision, seeking input from functional teams, as the coding will affect COGNOS reports.
5. Retirees email – thoughts on moving retirees from CU Exchange to Gmail? Retirees do not receive
faculty/staff email. The 90 day password reset policy will affect them if they remain on our server. We
have less than 40 retiree accounts. Their email address will remain the same. Alumni offered to notify and
serve as a point of contact for alumni. Debbie reported she is waiting for input from Jamie Glover.
6. Outages
a. 3/17/12 – 3/18/12: The Oracle upgrade for Banner PROD application servers, Banner, AggieAccess,
Cognos will be scheduled for a later date. NO planned outages during spring break.
7. Informational
a. Student technicians are now wearing lanyards – Debbie reported if someone appears in an office
without a lanyard, to please send them back to the help desk to get their lanyard or if it is a time-
sensitive work order, to call the help desk at 2454 to verify it is indeed a student tech from the help
desk.
b. Educause website updated with participating representatives information as of 12/7/11
c. Blackboard Transact ID server was successfully installed 12/16/11
d. Banner PROD operating system patches installed; Web Servers/LINUX Servers operating system
updates installed as of 12/30/11
e. All fac/staff mailboxes are migrated to Exchange 2010. The link on www.cameron.edu for employee
email was changed by 2/6/12
8. Internet Service for Ft. Sill – As of 4/9/12, CU will become responsible for providing network service for
our CU employees. Location and timeframe were forwarded to OneNet for a possible solution. On 2/1/12,
OneNet replied they plan to have a connection installed no later than 3/31/12 and will contact Beth with
questions and concerns.
9. Other items?
Linda complimented the professional manner in which Lyndel Monrose, student technician, assisted in a
recent installation of a printer in the Registrar’s area.
