COURSE DESCRIPTION

ENGLISH COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course tackles legislations related to the archive in the Arab world and worldwide. It presents models of these legislations, standards of archives and how these legislations and standards affect performance of library services.

COURSE AIM

The course aims to enable student to understand and evaluate the local and international archival legislations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

1.

Studying all legislations related to the archives in Oman.

Identifying models of legislations in Arab world and some foreign countries

Realizing the difference between different legislations, their terms and importance to organize work in archival institutions.

Identifying qualitative and quantitative standards of archival institutions.

Students who able to understand local and international legislations in archival institutions, and how to evaluate and criticize these legislations.

COURSE RULES

Attendance

In case of 10% absence of teaching hours, a first notice shall be sent to the student.

In case of 20% absence of teaching hours, a second notice shall be sent to the student and he will be deprived from entering the exam.
