IT is going to be swamped. Not only do we have banner, ods, cognos, and luminis, we also have the third party software that has to be brought in. When are we going to train for Intellicheck and FormFusion. When do we do Higher One and testing it? All of this needs to be in the plan. Some things we don’t have to have perfected or implemented when we go live. A worse case scenario would be that we don’t implement ODS/EDW. We need to evaluate the canned reports. We could extend the timeline of luminis since it taxes the time of some of the key users. We need to evaluate everything and determine what is possible and think about a phase II approach. Sherry is going to send the excel timesheet. If you have a range of dates, put that. Example: month of June for testing FormFusion. Sherry will develop a list of all the software and third party software that we purchased and when it’s supposed to be Action Taken, Decisions, Recommendations, Time Line Page 2 Topics Cameron University Banner Project Meeting Agenda and Notes Discussion, Information installed and implemented. May 29, 2016 Action Taken, Decisions, Recommendations, Time Line Sherry is going to discuss with Glen about purchasing the dual entry. Outstanding issues for SGHE Minutes from Mar 9 Next meeting Summit News Common Matching Juddson Matthews worked for SunGard for 10 years. He’s very good with workflow. He has one already created for Early Alert and CU can evaluate it to see if that will work instead of our home grown system. He’s written several and will be able to work with us to create some custom workflows for CU. He also has advancement, ODS, and events management expertise. Eduserve is doing some dual training so that if Sherry gets sick then Juddson could step in. He will also be doing some training for Cameron. Since WIN is just baseline, he can come in and help fill in the gaps of what the software is capable of. Sherry will be training him all week and possibly some the following week. He’ll be in and out from time to time and Sherry will be keeping him up to date. Currently, continue to only carbon Sherry on emails and she will forward any she needs to. His email is jmatthews if you need to email him. None at this time. No change April 13. Post trip reports to W:\workgrps\its_share\banner\summit 2009 and send an email to the tech team. Info Kelly received from a Common Matching session @ SETA: Common Matching – Work Cross functional (Teresa Woodley – University of Illinois) Page 3 Topics Cameron University Banner Project Meeting Agenda and Notes Discussion, Information Common Matching is a tool used to inform users when they are entering data that appears to already be in the system. The presenter and many from the audience were very pleased with Common Matching. Everyone agreed it should be turned on for the entire university as a mandatory function in all systems. It can be set up by module and campus, but no one recommended it being done this way. Common matching forces a user to use the GOAMTCH form when creating a new person record to reduce the number of duplicates entered in the system. With established rules, GOAMTCH allows more definitive searching capabilities when adding new persons to Banner. Pop Sels and Letters Clean Address Blackboard GTVCMSC table checks for duplicates by how the source is set up GORCSCM sets up what you want to match on. UI matches on person, online common matching, length override and address types. The address types can be set to match on hierarchy which is set by the object table – SPRIDEN. STUPCAT sets up common matching in Web4 applications and Tape Loads Users will be testing these on the test instance and then entering them into PPRD. IT has to run the batch process or schedule it. The first few times we need to run it manually. Chase will run it and everyone in IT will need to evaluate the output. There is a clean address package to modify the parameters based on CU’s standards. After the first run or two is evaluated by IT, the ILT will need to set a process in place of when it should be run. This is in the hands of Woogie Burgess. She will take their May 29, 2016 Action Taken, Decisions, Recommendations, Time Line Page 4 Cameron University Banner Project Meeting Agenda and Notes Topics Integration Update Adding Third party software and interfaces to project timeline Key Control System Summit 2010 Software Updates Discussion, Information decision to John McArthur. This includes all of our reporting needs. Team leads need to develop a list or what they need and then evaluate whether or not Banner can do it. Shawn Love wants to put this in Banner if possible. SDE could be used for this, but Kurt will check with the HR consultant to see if there might be a spot there. We could also put it in the user management system. Summit was very helpful to those who attended and Angie requested that it needs to be on the radar for next year. The same number of people who attended this year should be going again next year as there are numerous sessions and few times for overlap. Chase updated FA to 8.3 and Greg has PPRD updated except for the last patch. Greg updated all of the linux servers and both sunfire and sunray. The ODS install is complete. May 29, 2016 Action Taken, Decisions, Recommendations, Time Line Debbie will ask Ninette about budget travel for next year but emphasized that the budget is extremely tight for next year.
