It was determined that prospects will be converted from Fall 2010 forward. Does Admissions have a “checklist” to show that a student is eligible for registration? In the legacy system, we have “Tracking” which denotes any and all documents/credentials that are needed for admission/registration. Adjuncts need to be separated from faculty. Need to come up with a location to make the separation between faculty & adjunct. This could possible occur in HR. We must decide whether we will turn the pre-requisite/corequisite option on or off in BANNER. The decision has been made to utilize this option. There will be cases in which overrides will have to occur. Schedule type – restrictions are in separate fields on the course pre-requisites that are enforced. Schedule master – there are fields which trigger fees to be associated with a particular section in the legacy system. We need to ensure this will occur in BANNER. Special approval indicator needs to be available for courses requiring permission in BANNER. At the section level, we need to include a minimum and maximum enrollment capacity. Open/closed class status must be included at the section level. We currently use location codes to determine enrollment at a specific campus. We will need this capability at the section level in BANNER. In progress terms will be converted from legacy to …In progress. There will be some dual entry between both systems at the beginning. We will have use of legacy system for three years into conversion to BANNER. In order to process records for Fall 2010 term, student A/R for Spring 2010 will be converted prior to go live date. Anything entered after June 2010 will be manual entry. This is a requirement that we must adhere to due to the policies of our Oklahoma State Board of Regents. Also need ability to separate forgiven/repeated courses from Cameron GPA (called the retention gpa in legacy). Also a regent’s requirement. This is linked to the degree screens. In banner this process is listed as sought and pending. We have extensive equivalencies in the legacy system that must be converted. Retention GPA & Forgiveness/Repeat policy may require a modification in BANNER. Possibly borrow this modification from UCO – who currently utilizes this information.
