Student Learning Outcome:
1. Family and Consumer Studies students are prepared for professional entrylevel positions in their field.
Measure 1:
CDFS students will be assessed by the Major
Field Test, which measures knowledge and application in the areas of lifespan human development, family dynamics, sexuality, the discipline of Human Sciences, program development and evaluation, and the family life profession. CDFS students will have an
“average” or better mean score on the test.
FCSE students will be assessed by Praxis II, which measures all content areas in Family and Consumer Sciences (CDT Code 5121 and
PDT Code 0121) and Principles of Learning and Teaching CDT Code 5624 and PDT Code
0624). Students will obtain 157 or 155 or better out of 200 points respectively on the tests.

CDFS 3390 (Fall 2014): 55 students completed the course. 54 students or 98% completed work critiqued as
“above average” or better. The measurement goal was met. HSC
4101 (Spring 2015): 29 students completed the course. 62% (n=18) completed work critiqued as
“excellent” or better. Measurement goal was not met. One student completed YOED 4020 Residency I with an “above average” or better rating. (100%) One student completed YOED 4400 Residency II and had a portfolio proficiency of average or outstanding and an “above average rating for other coursework.
