Kamali named as Dean of CU School of
Science and Technology
Reza Kamali, Ph.D., has been selected as Cameron University’s Dean of the School of Science and
Technology. The Board of Regents for The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State
University approved Kamali’s appointment during its monthly meeting in May. Kamali will assume his role
as dean effective August 1.
“Dr. Kamali brings a wealth of educational, administrative and technical knowledge to Cameron University,”
said John McArthur, Ph.D., Vice President for Academic Affairs. “He will be a tremendous asset to
Cameron’s School of Science and Technology.”
As Dean, Kamali will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer for the School of Science and
Technology, making recommendations on curriculum, faculty development, personnel decisions and
budget.
Prior to joining Cameron, Kamali served as the Head of Computer Information Technology and Graphics
Department (formerly Computer Information Technology; Computer Information Systems and Information
Technology) and Professor of Computer Information Technology at Purdue University Calumet, where he
also served as Graduate Studies Director for the School of Technology. Kamali earned a Bachelor of Arts
in Economics from the University of Tehran, Master of Science degrees in Computer Sciences as well as
Mathematical Sciences from the University of Arkansas, and a Doctorate in Mathematics from Drexel
University.

Kamali has published numerous articles in a wide-ranging list of professional journals and has written grant
proposals which resulted in funding. During his tenure at Purdue University Calumet, he was involved in
numerous campus organizations, including the Purdue University Graduate Council, the Multi-Cultural
Committee, the Graduate Education Council, and the Distance Education and Extended Learning Steering
Committee, among others. His professional affiliations include memberships in the Association for
Computer Machinery (ACM) and ACM’s Special Interest Group-Information Technology Education.
