CU Scholarship to promote America’s Army
Cameron University President Cindy Ross announced the establishment of the Lawton-Fort Sill Chapter of
the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Scholarship today during a formal signing held at the
Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies (CETES) on CU’s main campus.
The Lawton-Fort Sill Chapter of AUSA donated $15,000 through a grant from the Walton Family
Foundation for initial funding of the scholarship which will be used to promote leadership growth and
understanding of the value of America’s Army to the nation.
"A mission of the Association of the United States Army is to educate the public on the Army's value to our
great nation - to tell "The Army Story." Grassroots support for America's Army can only come when people
know and understand the value of the Army to our country," said David Madigan, President of the LawtonFort Sill Chapter of AUSA. "Cameron University has a long history of support to our military personnel, and
we are proud to offer this scholarship to aid students in pursuing their educational goals while promoting
the mission of our nation's military."
The AUSA scholarship will be awarded to a freshman or sophomore student who exhibits leadership, extracurricular activity involvement and academic achievement. The student must also be enrolled in a Military
Science level I or II course.
“I applaud the Lawton-Fort Sill Chapter of AUSA as a leader in support of the military,” said Ross. “This
scholarship also demonstrates AUSA’s commitment to education and increasing opportunities for Cameron
