Cameron to name a Cameron Village apartment
building in honor of McCasland Foundation
Cameron University President Cindy Ross is proud to announce a Cameron Village apartment building has
been named McCasland Hall in recognition of the generous contributions the McCasland Foundation of
Duncan has made to the university through the last two decades.
The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University Board of Regents, CU’s
governing body, unanimously approved the action during Wednesday’s regularly scheduled meeting in
Norman.
“For more than 20 years, the McCasland Foundation has selflessly invested in the lives of Cameron
University’s students,” Ross said. “McCasland Hall will stand as a lasting monument to a foundation that
has provided countless opportunities for CU students in Duncan, Lawton and throughout Southwest
Oklahoma.”
Barbara Braught, Executive Director of the McCasland Foundation, said the foundation was honored by the
recognition.
“This is a great distinction, one that the McCasland Foundation will cherish,” Braught said. “The McCasland
Foundation is proud of its relationship with Cameron University. We believe that by supporting the
educational endeavors of Cameron University, we are supporting the future of Southwest Oklahoma and
the entire state.”

The McCasland Foundation has provided more than $2.5 million in gifts and pledges for numerous student
scholarships, capital improvement projects and 36 endowed lectureships. Each project has enhanced
Cameron’s ability to provide students with a top quality education and collegiate experience.
“The McCasland Foundation and Cameron University have been tremendous partners,” Ross said.
“Together, we are working to make Cameron the ‘University of Choice’ in Southwest Oklahoma. As
Cameron enters its second century, this partnership will continue to provide excellent educational
opportunities for our students.”
McCasland Hall will be officially dedicated during a special ceremony scheduled in March.
