For Immediate Release – Lawton, OK, Nov. 30, 2005 Cameron University gives away 10 iPods, free rent for semester to Cameron Village Rafael Zurita’s lucky day ended up paying his rent for an entire semester. Zurita, a junior sports management major from Caracas, Spain, had his name randomly selected from 200 Cameron Village residents to receive a free semester of rent at Cameron Village during a recent drawing. The drawing was part of a special giveaway party for Cameron Village residents that also featured 10 drawings for free iPods. The giveaways were a special bonus for the first 200 people who placed deposits on the Cameron Village apartments, which opened for occupancy this fall. “The drawing was something fun and unique for the students who would be the initial occupants of Cameron’s first-ever, apartment-style housing addition,” said Casey Case, Director of Residence Life. “I know our residents were extremely excited about living at Cameron Village and this added to that energy.” The 10 students who received iPods were Megan Goforth, Carlos Fernandez, Samantha Porter, Stephanie Bour, Carolina Mullor, Damian Barrios-Lopez, Jonathan Hooks, Molly Culhane, Timothy Lane, and Alan Hall. Cameron Village, CU’s apartment-style, living-learning complex, opened this fall and now has a 90-plus percent occupancy rate, doubling that of most first-year housing additions. – 30 – PR# 05-271 Editors and Broadcasters: For more information, contact CU Government & Community Relations at 580.581.2211.
