For Immediate Release – Lawton, OK, Jan. 21, 2004 Black Dance Theatre troupe to perform at CU Members of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre will take the stage during a special performance next week in the Cameron University Theatre, located at University Drive and A Avenue in Lawton. The Jan. 27 event, “An Evening of Dance,” will feature performances from a diverse, multi-ethnic troupe of professional modern dancers. The event, sponsored by the Cameron University Ebony Society and the CU Lectures and Concerts program, is perfect for all ages. Admission for the 7 p.m. performance is free. The Dallas Black Dance Theatre is the oldest, continuously operating professional dance company in Dallas. The ensemble consists of 11 professional dancers performing a repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally recognized choreographers including Alvin Ailey, Talley Beatty and Donal Byrd.
