1. Approve the minutes (12/11/13)
a. Approved (with 2 abstentions)
2. ARC report (Emma)
a. The Middle States has set up new rules/standards for ARC
b. Course catalogue for the new academic year 2014-15 may be delayed
3. Deans’ survey results
a. Reviewed and discussed the survey results
b. FAEC will send the survey results (both qualitative and quantitative
responses) to the respective Dean, Unit, and the Provost. The survey
results will also be PDF password-protected.
4. Visit from Martha Ecker
a. Discussed the Connect software. Concerns raised that it may not
correspond to the Liberal Arts education image of the Ramapo College.
b. Discussed the Delaware Study/productivity measures and pointed out that
the data does not take into account qualitative components.
c. Raised the issue that students choose Ramapo because of its small
classroom setting and small student-professor ratio.
d. Discussed the College’s finance and its relations to the possibility of
having full-time faculty to teach 4 courses in a semester instead of 3
courses. The objective has been to increase full-time faculty’s student
credit hours (SCH).
