Two-Year College Teaching Program Goals: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Provide accessible graduate education to community college professional that overcomes barriers related to distance and time. Provide the entire M.A.Ed. Program to students throughout North Carolina, utilizing various distance learning formats, in two calendar years. Provide all student services in an adult-friendly manner. Ensure that students understand the history, mission and philosophy of the community college as well as adult learning theory and instructional methodologies. Ensure that students understand the political, economic, and social roles of the community college. Student Learning Outcomes: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Articulate the mission of the community college. Describe the nature and needs of the adult learner. Evaluate the unique comprehensive curriculum associated with the community college. Comprehend and apply the basic principles of instructional design and leadership. Recognize and describe the supervisory role of the community college leader. Articulate the organizational structure of the community college. Formulate an understanding of educational research and assess its role in making educational decisions.
