The Senior Consultant/Consultant Chemical Pathologist maintains a high professional standard consistently and provides clinical, scientific and technical expertise to the management and operation of the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory, ensuring a comprehensive, high quality and efficient laboratory service. 2. The Senior Consultant/Consultant Chemical Pathologist acts as a liaison between the laboratory and the medical/clinical areas, contributing to multidisciplinary patient care. 2. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Department and Head of Section Education of tertiary students Trainees fulfil training requirements Specialist qualification in Chemical pathology Performs research and collaborate in research programmes. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS State the knowledge, experience, skills and specialisation required for competent performance of this job. 3.1 Education, Training, Experience and Professional Licence Candidates must possess basic Medical Degree and relevant post-graduate qualifications such as FRCPath (Chemical Path) or FRCPA (Chemical Path) and have completed specialty training in countries such as UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA or Ireland. They must be registered as a specialist in the country of practice and be working at the level of a specialist. 6
