Review 1 – Local Restaurants!
Kostas
By Madelyn Wike
Kostas is a family owned restaurant located in Dillsboro, NC. It is right around
five minutes outside of Sylva. When I pulled into this restaurant it looked as if it
was going to be very expensive. The outside was wooden, and there was a dark
green over cover with very pretty writing on it. When I walked in I was a little
overwhelmed by the atmosphere. There was a lot happening in such a small
walk in. There is a small shop on the left side when you walk in showing you
how the restaurant started, and giving you the option to buy souvenirs. I had a
party of five and did not like the idea of having to wait behind a large crowd of
people. We gave the waitress the name and before we even got to the waiting
area, she called us up to be seated.
We got a cute little table outside under the cover which had a nice view of
the road, with a few shops nearby. Our waitress was very friendly, and
greeted us with a warm smile on her face. When she handed us the menu we
knew we would have to have a few minutes to look it over. There were so
many options to choose from.
When we finally decided what we would order we waited for the meal to be
delivered. While we waited we had bread and salad delivered to us. The bread was delicious and the salad was
fairly decent sized. It took no longer than fifteen minutes for our food to arrive.
After we ate we asked for our checks. We were all surprised to find our
meals were inexpensive for such a delicious dinner. All of our meals were
under ten dollars for our dinner and drinks. If you want a nice, welcoming
environment then Kostas is the place for you. When I asked everyone in my
party what they would change about their experience if they could they all
said that they would have come back many months before now, and we all
agreed we would be making Kostas a monthly event.
