Spring 2016 Connect Update:
Mass Messaging Your Students and Advisement Hold Release
A reminder of two key Connect features now available:
1. Mass Messaging: Faculty can message their entire list of advisees, course
roster or convening group via Connect in a BCC message and have a copy
sent to their personal Ramapo email address. All messages will be sent from
the faculty member’s Ramapo email address, not from connect@ramapo.edu.
Additionally, student responses will be sent to the faculty member’s personal
Ramapo email address.
2. Advisement Hold Release: Connect compiles a list of advisees with active
school advisement holds. This list refreshes each day with Banner updates.
Holds can also be removed in Connect by adding a “note” to a student folder
for “Hold Release” (see image on right). This will take effect in Banner within 4
hours of being released.

What’s new?
STUDENT ID PHOTOS: Connect displays
student ID photos in your course roster for
easy student recognition.
ASB CAREER PATHWAYS: To assist with
the management of the ASB Pathways
Program, Connect has provided ASB
faculty and other appropriate staff the
opportunity to track and view student
Pathways progress. To view ASB Pathways
progress, open a student’s folder and
clicking on the Tracking tab.
NEW OFFICES USING CONNECT: Cahill
Career Development Center, Financial
Aid, Residence Life, and the Dean of
Students Office. For a full list of offices

Academic Progress Surveys
Each semester Connect releases an Academic
Progress Survey for faculty members with
students from the following populations:
Athletics, Educational Opportunity Fund Program
(EOF), Office of Specialized Services, first-year,
sophomore, junior and transfer students.
The survey release date is timed with the college
withdrawal date (April 8, 2016) so that students
have time to withdraw from the course if needed.
Survey dates will be shared after our next
Connect Faculty Advisory Board meeting.
