LAW AND SOCIETY MAJOR
 Law and Society program at
Ramapo is a broad-based
interdisciplinary major rooted
in the liberal arts.
 Students study law from
historical, social scientific,
humanities and global
perspectives.
 Students develop an
appreciation of American
legal system, socio-legal
structures and issues of
social justice.
The Law and Society major emphasizes:
 Critical thinking, socio-legal research and writing.
 Experiential learning promoted through
internship/field studies.
 Critical reflection on issues of our times through
co-curricular activities such as SCOTUS (Supreme
Court of the US), RJOLAS (Ramapo Journal of
Law and Society).
 Problem solving skills through moot court.
