* Selecting a Perspective in the 300-400 level satisfies both the perspective requirement and the upper-level
perspective requirement (ULP) – e.g., if a student takes MUS 304 as their P5 requirement, the ULP is also met.
** Chosen in conjunction with student’s advisor
Total Hours for Degree: 124 hours
Declaration of a major in Environmental Health does not guarantee admission into the
program. Students must maintain an overall 2.3 GPA and earn a grade of C (2.0) or
above in each of the core environmental health courses in order to remain in the
program. In addition, students are expected to adhere to the technical and
professional standards of the program. For the most up to date information regarding
these standards, program suspension and termination, refer to the Environmental
Health Program website linked from the School of Health Sciences. The program is
nationally accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection
Accreditation Council (EHAC).
Concentration (6 hours) in such areas as environmental health (ENVH), chemistry
(CHEM), environmental science (ES), natural resources management (NRM), biology
(BIOL), geology (GEOL) and foreign language are required. The area of concentration
will be chosen in conjunction with the student’s advisor. Four (4) or more of the
concentration hours must come from the C5 (sciences) hours.
General Electives: General electives (8 hours) are required to complete the
program. Student is responsible for completing the liberal studies program (42
hours).
