Local and International Business
in Emerging China
This course introduces students to the
economic, social, cultural, and political
environment of China. Students learn how
China’s recent economic and political history
has shaped its society and current business
environment. In both Beijing and Shanghai,
company visits and guest lectures will allow
students to meet members of the local and
international business communities, officials,
and Chinese students and academics.

PREPARATIONS
The course will begin at Ramapo College with a
number of pre-departure sessions.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND ACTIVITIES
• Students will reside in hotels in both
Shanghai and Beijing.
• Visit the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden
City, Shanghai’s Pudong business district,
and the Temple of Heaven.
