This programme aims to develop the skills required to enable independent practice of endodontics at a level above special interest but below specialist. It is studied either full-time over one year or part-time over two years and has a strong clinical bias.
The programme aims to develop a broad understanding of endodontics, including basic principles and how to apply them clinically.

The programme’s students benefit from a comprehensive curriculum, opportunities for self-directed learning, a clinically-relevant laboratory techniques course, emphasis on integration of theoretical and clinical aspects, and prioritised reading recommendations. The broad self-learning approach enables the pursuit of individual academic interests.

The programme is delivered through a structured lecture/seminar series, skills laboratory simulation courses, diagnostic clinics, supervised treatment of patients, case conferences and a research project leading to a dissertation. Students are encouraged to develop a range of vocation-specific and transferable skills.
Mode: Full-time: 1 year; Part-time: 2 years
Students undertake modules to the value of 180 credits. The programme consists of five core modules (120 credits) and a research dissertation
(60 credits).

Employability
The programme’s strong emphasis on integrated development of multiple domains produces well-rounded clinicians with the competence and aptitude for developing and delivering a high-quality and predictable clinical service in endodontics.
All applicants must normally hold an approved dental qualification and have a minimum of two years' clinical experience. For further requirements please refer to the institute's Endodontics MSc page.
