Performance Reports for Certificated Administrative Positions 1. Administrative Positions. All certificated positions designated as management are deemed to be administrative positions. 2. Time of Rating. a. All regular and nonregular employees serving in substitute, limited, acting or probationary status in administrative positions shall be evaluated on or before February 15 of each year. b. All administrators who have completed their probationary period shall be evaluated at least once every two years on or before February 15. 1) Employees whose employee numbers end with even numbers are to be evaluated during academic years which end in even numbered years. 2) Employees whose employee numbers end with an odd number are to be evaluated during academic years which end in odd numbered years. 3. Policy. All administrative employees, as outlined above, shall be regularly and uniformly evaluated by their immediate supervisors as to performance. The following areas are to be evaluated: a. Accomplishments b. Job Knowledge c. Problem solving d. Cooperation e. Judgment f. Adaptability to change g. Communication skills h. Initiative and decisiveness i. Personal skills and qualities j. Creativity and innovations k. Leadership l. Goals and objectives m. Managerial qualities n. Overall evaluation 4. Procedure. a. The evaluation of the administrator shall, to the extent possible, include faculty evaluation. b. The immediate supervisor responsible for the rating should hold at least one formal conference with the employee during the rating period. c. For employees with overall ratings above "unsatisfactory," prepare original and 2 copies of Form C976, have employee sign all copies and forward original to the Vice Chancellor, Division of Human Resources. The first copy is for college files, and second copy should be given to the employee. If the employee is unwilling to sign, that fact should be indicated in the signature space and certified by a witness on all copies. If the employee is unavailable to sign, that fact and the reason should be indicated in the signature space on all copies. PG B354 (Continued) The employee's copy should be forwarded along with the original whenever the employee is unavailable or unwilling to sign. The Office of Personnel Operations will mail the form to the employee. d. For employees with overall ratings of "Degree 1," a Notice of Unsatisfactory service (Form C117) is to be processed in accordance with instructions on the form supplied by Division of Human Resources.
