Ms. Evelyn Escatiola, Professional Development Coordinator, East Los Angeles College (ELAC), gave a PowerPoint presentation and discussed the Faculty Professional Development Program with respect to the New Faculty Institute 2008, the Winter Faculty Institute 2011, and the Winter Adjunct Institute Outcomes. She deferred to Ms. Jessica Cristo, Director, Pilot Bridge Program, ELAC. Ms. Cristo gave a PowerPoint presentation and discussed the Early Assessment Program (EAP) Summer Bridge 2010 with respect to the Bridge Schedule, EAP Curriculum, Student Demographics, Academic Histories in Math, Academic Histories in English, and the Program Results. Ms. Adrienne Ann Mullen, Dean, Continuing Education, ELAC, continued the PowerPoint presentation and discussed the Faculty Transfer Advisor (FTA) Program with respect to the History, FTA Program Objective, Program Curriculum, Faculty Advisor Expectations, Results from the FTA, Highlights, and The Future of FTA at ELAC. Presentation: Student Success Taskforce A document entitled “California Community Colleges Task Force on Student Success ‘Where Are We At?’” was distributed. Dr. Kathleen F. Burke-Kelly, Acting President, Los Angeles Mission College (LAMC), summarized the document with respect to President Obama’s stated goal of adding eight million college graduates to the current levels by 2020.
