Announcements Posted 4/4/2007 4:08:45 PM e-mail print CORMP Honored by National Weather Service UNCW's Coastal Ocean Research and Monitoring Project (CORMP) was recognized by the National Weather Service with a Public Service Award for outstanding work in promoting marine safety in partnership with the Carolinas Coast project. The awards were given out at Wilmington's National Weather Service offices on April 2. CORMP was honored for its assistance in the development of the new experimental Carolinas Coast marine weather web portal. The experimental Web site integrates real-time marine data from eight major providers - National Weather Service (NWS); National Ocean Service (NOS); National Data Buoy Center; Carolina's Coastal Ocean Observing and Prediction System Stations (Caro-COOPS); United State Geological Survey; Federal Aviation Administration; Department of Defense; The Skidaway Institute of Oceanography and CORMP. The new marine web portal will be a gateway for marine customers and partners to access a variety of real-time marine observations, hazards and forecasts along the North Carolina, South Carolina and northern Georgia coast.
