Exciting! MAZZEI FAMILY WINE DINNER
WITH MARCHESI MAZZEI ATTENDING
Sunday, May 25
Our friend, Andreas
Rieder, at the National Golf
Club in Toronto, certainly
one of Canada’s most exclusive golf clubs, has arranged
to include our club in a
national wine dinner tour.
On Sunday, May 25 the
Faculty Club will be hosting a beautiful dinner along
with exclusive Mazzei wines.
I am thrilled to let you know that The Marchesi Francesco Mazzei will, himself be in
attendance.
The family owned winery, located 5 km south of Castellina in Chianti (Sienna) has
been owned by the Mazzei family since 1435. The vineyards are comprised of - Castello
di Fonterutoli (Chianti - Tuscany), Tenuta Belguardo (Maremma - Tuscany) and Zisola
(Sicily). You can check out the website at www.fonterutoli.it/
Some of the wines being served this evening are from the family cellar and are
not available outside of Italy. This will truly be a very special night. This dinner will
be part of a tour including stops at the National Golf Club in Toronto, Capilano Golf
and Country Club in Vancouver and finishing up here at our very own Faculty Club in
Saskatoon.
This evening will be limited to the first fifty guests and will be offered to Faculty
Club Members exclusively until March 31. April 1, we will release any open seats to the
general public. For more details, or to reserve your seat please contact me: 966-7777
or donna.cram@usask.ca. Because of the expected response to this offer we are asking
for a credit card confirmation and all reservations will be non-refundable (but you are
certainly welcome to send a favorite someone in your place!).

A CLUB TO VISIT
The University Club, University of Victoria
RED ROOM
Looking for a space to hold that special birthday dinner? The Red Room is
just the private intimate space. It provides seating for sixteen people with
fabulous menu options.
On a recent trip to Victoria, it was my pleasure to visit The University Club
at the University of Victoria. “The University Club of Victoria (formerly
called the Faculty Club) opened for business on March 16, 1982. The west
coast design and cedar construction of the building lends itself gracefully
to the natural picturesque setting in a wooded dale. The building, located
on campus, is surrounded by high trees in a quiet, wooded area. Artistic
landscaping with flowers and shrubs blooming year round are reflected in
the adjacent pond.” If you get an opportunity to visit this lovely club make
sure to pass along my greetings to the Club’s gracious manager, Mr. Peter
Williams.
Reminder!
The last day of classes is Wednesday, April 9. Join Tanya in the lounge for
complimentary snacks and Happy Hour Drinks!
CLUB CLOSURE
The Faculty Club will once again be taking a short vacation break from
Monday July 28 until Friday, August 8, inclusive. We will return to regular service on Monday August 11. The Club office will be closed most of
this time but if you need to contact us, please call 966-7777 and leave a
detailed message. We will be checking messages frequently. The Faculty
Club will still be available for pre-booked functions on the weekends during this time.
