Greystone Theatre and the Faculty Club Mother Courage and Her Children Directed by: Jim Geudo “A religious war ravages the civilized world, killing soldiers and civilians alike. Mother Courage hauls her canteen across and around the European continent, following the battles, selling supplies to whichever side will grease her palm to support her family. Even as the war claims the lives of her three children, she persists in her struggle to make a profit – at the expenses of her humanity. Bertolt Brecht penned this epic on the eve of World War II and in David Hare’s vigorous translation, its lessons and surprising humor remain eerily relevant today.” 42.95 per person (Members & Hosted Guests) - 48.95 per person (Non-Members) Price includes Pre-dinner, passed appetizers, Dinner and Theatre tickets (which will be waiting for you at your table that evening) Cocktails and Chef’s Passed Appetizer Selection: 5:30 PM Dinner: To Follow Curtain: 8:00 PM PROMPT! The University Business Office requires that any charges to the university must be signed by the host with the names of those attending, the purpose of the meeting indicated and the CFOAPAL account to charge. To facilitate that, you can have your office call 966-7777 or email us (donna.cram@usask.ca or susan.schmidt@usask.ca or facultyclub. catering@usask.ca) with that information before you arrive and once you have signed the original we will submit to the Business Office. That way there will be no problems with processing. 2. For many years Susan has manually transferred charges from your personal account to the university CFOAPAL number but with the new system, this is much more difficult since the only signed original is the one presented to you on the day of purchase. Can you help poor Susan out? Please provide the CFOAPAL information on the day of your visit. 3. If you don’t have access to a computer we can still mail your statement to you, please just let us know. 4. We can now easily generate extra copies of chits so if you want to take one back to the office for reconciliation, just let your server know and they will provide it for you. There may still be a few “bugs” in the system, so if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either Susan or myself at 966-7777. CLUB CLOSURE: At the Club, we will be taking time to spend with our families on the holiday. We will close for service at 4:00 on Tuesday, December 23 and re-open for lunch as usual on Monday, January 5, 2009. Post & Boast! Once again, if you prefer to contribute to an annual general gratuity fund rather than tip throughout the year, you may do so by forwarding your contribution to the office. All money collected will be distributed in the New Year to the service staff who serve you all year long. We think we have the best staff team around but we would love to hear what you think. If a staff team member has impressed you, done something special or just done their job, really, really well. I would love to hear about it. During the month of January we will be collecting your comments and sharing them with the team. Then, the whole team will vote on who should receive our official recognition which will be a Special “Wine & Dine” evening out . . . on us. We are going “Green”! Remember: The lounge is available to members for Book Clubs & Splurge CHRISTMAS GRATUITY POOL As most of you have probably noticed, we have FINALLY installed a new point of sale system. All statements will now be emailed along with copies of the corresponding unsigned chits (a huge saving of paper). Contrary to what we have been saying for the last twenty years . . . you may now take a copy of your chit with you. Please leave us the signed copy and you can take the “copy” copy. There are a few changes we have to make to accommodate the new service. Clubs. If you are looking for a comfy space to hold your next meeting. Give us a call: 966-7774. We are so proud of our team! Currently, on our staff team we have team members who speak the following languages: Japanese, French, Bulgarian, Kannada, Hindi, Polish, Pigeon English, Cantonese and Mandarin (Crystal maintains she speaks the language of love!). If you are entertaining an international guest, let us know and we will do our very best to make them feel welcome when they visit the club.
